Asset Reliability Engineering
We help clients understand why assets fail and develop maintenance strategies that protect required functions. The focus is on service continuity, equipment availability, maintainability, and the consequences of failure.
Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
Reliability-centered maintenance begins with asset functions, functional failures, failure modes, and their consequences. We use this structured review to select appropriate preventive, condition-based, predictive, failure-finding, or corrective tasks and identify where redesign or another risk control is needed.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
Preventive maintenance uses planned tasks and intervals based on equipment needs, operating conditions, and failure behavior. Predictive maintenance uses condition data and trends to identify developing faults and plan intervention.
Monitoring methods may include vibration analysis, temperature trending, infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, visual inspection, and electrical testing, selected according to the asset and the failure modes being monitored.
Failure Analysis and Recurring Problem Resolution
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to investigate recurring failures, identify contributing causes, and verify corrective actions.
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate how equipment can fail, the effects on operations, and the controls needed.
- Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) analysis using clearly defined asset populations, failure events, and operating exposure.
- Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and availability analysis to identify restoration delays and improvement opportunities.
Maintenance Strategy Development
We translate findings into task lists, job plans, inspection routes, maintenance intervals, critical-spares requirements, and improvement actions. Strategies are reviewed as operating experience and condition data change.
